Job Description

The Town of Scarborough is seeking seasonal, part-time Beach Attendants within the Community Services Department. Working under the supervision of the Recreation and Waterfront Manager, Beach Attendants support daily beach operations and serve as a welcoming point of contact for residents and visitors enjoying the Maine coast. The role involves frequent interaction with the public and calls for a courteous, professional presence and a shared commitment to maintaining a safe, enjoyable beach environment.

 

Requirements of Work:  Demonstrated experience working directly with the public. Ability and willingness to perform frequent restroom cleaning and sanitation duties. Ability to safely direct and manage vehicle and pedestrian traffic in high-volume, fast-paced parking environments. Ability to work weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods. Strong oral communication skills. Ability to follow directions and work independently. Valid Maine driver's license required. Willingness to perform other duties within the department, as assigned.

 

Desirable Experience and Training: Custodial or park management experience a plus. Pay range dependent on experience: $18-$20 per hour.

The Scarborough Town Hall is located at 259 U.S. Route 1, just south of the junction of Rt. 1 and Black Point Road/Gorham Road.
