Maine Senior Games Position Opening
PROGRAM ASSOCIATE
The Maine Senior Games has an opening for a part time Program Associate. We are seeking a motivated and organized individual to assist with administrative tasks, program coordination, and day-of-event operations.  This part-time role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting active adults ages 45+, sports, and community engagement. The candidate will report to the Maine Senior Games Board of Directors (non-profit) and work in conjunction with the Maine Senior Games Coordinator.
Position Type: Part-Time (Flexible hours, with some evenings and weekends required) Independent Contractor.   Work remotely. Candidates must be able to travel to various event locations across Maine. Candidates must be able to lift up to 45 pounds, move physically, and be capable of bending and lifting.
May 4 – October 4 (but not limited to)       15 hours/week during this time period
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Assist preparing athlete check in lists prior to the event
After each event is complete this person will review and post event results, update web site
Maintain participants records and event databases
Assist loading and unloading equipment for events
Attend events and assist with on-site logistics
Coordinate volunteers at the event
Work with the Games Coordinator and our webmaster to update the MSG website and forms


October 5 – May 3 (but not limited to)       5 hours/week during this time period
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Explore Portland Media group and learn how to use video equipment
Fund development
Recruiting volunteers
Attend events to promote MSG
Newsletter prep
Assist with National Sr. Games Week
Assist with Celebration of Athletes
Work with the Games Coordinator and our webmaster to update the MSG website and forms



Qualifications:
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Knowledge of sports that we offer in the Maine Senior Games
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Proficiency in basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, Google Workspace).
Experience with event planning or sports programming
Comfortable working with older adults in a recreational or sports setting

 
Schedule and Compensation:
            •           Flexible part-time schedule, with hours varying based on event needs and time of the year
            •           Compensation will be $25/hour
 
Working Conditions
It is expected that the person filling this position will provide their own office equipment to include but not limited to: copier, computer, and internet service, - phone TBD
