Job Description
The City of South Portland is currently seeking a 37.5 hour a week full-time Adult and Senior Program Recreation Manager to join our Parks, Recreation and Waterfront Department. Position Summary:  This position is expected to plan, implement, market, schedule, manage, supervise and evaluate recreation programs and activities associated with adult enrichment, fitness, sports and leagues. In addition, this position would provide oversight of the Senior Program division and supervise associated staff. This position includes periods of work outside of normal business hours, including evenings. 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in recreation, physical education, sports management or related field is preferred. Associate’s Degree required (or equivalent experience, in addition to experience required below). Must be a Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) or have the ability to obtain the certification within one (1) year of date of hire.

Experience: Four (4) years of related experience required, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.  Previous supervisory experience is required and previous experience working within a municipality is highly preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Maine Class “C” driver’s license throughout employment and must have their own reliable transportation for possible work-day transportation between city buildings.

Salary Range: $33.37 – $34.92/hour ($65,001 - $68,107 annually) depending on experience.  This position is eligible for annual step increases, and possible annual cost of living increases as approved by the City Council.
