Job Description
Recreation Director (Full-Time)
The Town of Sebago, Maine is accepting applications for a full-time (40 hours per week) Recreation Director. The hourly pay range for this position is $26.58 - $28.85, depending on qualifications and experience.
The Recreation Director is a department head position reporting directly to the Town Manager. The Director is responsible for designing, organizing, implementing, and supervising a wide variety of recreational and educational activities, special events, and programs; overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Parks and Recreation Department; and ensuring the department operates effectively and efficiently. Work is generally performed during normal office hours, with evenings and weekends required as needed.
The successful candidate will work closely with children, families, volunteers, the local organizations, and community partners. Experience with water-based recreation is highly desirable, as Sebago is located on the shores of Sebago Lake. Programs include youth, senior and adult sports such as baseball, softball, basketball, and soccer, as well as a variety of community recreation programs and special events.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Leisure Services Management, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Five (5) years of experience in municipal parks and recreation management preferred.
- Demonstrated background in progressively responsible supervisory positions.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
