Location: Sebago Elementary School

Pay Rate: $18.00 – $24.00 / hour (Based on experience)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM,  7:30-5:30PM School Vacations

Dates: August 31st – June 11th (School Year)

Position Type: Part-Time (with Full-Time opportunities during school vacations)

About the Role

Are you energetic, reliable, and passionate about making a positive impact on kids' lives? Sebago Recreation is looking for an engaging Afterschool Program Leader to join our SOAR Club team for the upcoming school year.

In this role, you will help create a safe, fun, and enriching environment for elementary students at the end of the school day. This is the perfect position for college students, aspiring teachers, or anyone looking for a rewarding community-focused role with excellent perks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise & Engage: Lead indoor and outdoor recreational activities, arts and crafts, and team-building games.

  • Academic Support: Provide homework assistance and encouragement to students.

  • Safety First: Ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive environment; manage student behavior constructively.

  • Teamwork: Coordinate with the program director and school staff to keep the afternoon running smoothly.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience working with children (camp counselor, daycare, sports coaching, or tutoring) is highly preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to pass a standard background check and fingerprinting.
